Watch Out For The Signs: How Often Should You Call For Plumbing Services

April 6, 2022 / by Violet & Anna / Leave a Comment

Being proactive when it comes to home systems is vital to saving money. Waiting for the problem to appear and then rushing could make the situation worse. The system may be permanently damaged. Your home systems, particularly pipes and plumbing systems, can deteriorate or get damaged over time if left uninspected, which results in huge costly repairs and nightmarish scenarios such as flooded homes.

Here’s a question: how frequently should you evaluate your heating or plumbing systems, or plan a plumbing service visit? We recommend inspecting your home systems at least once a year, although it depends on how old they are. You should be very concerned if they have been working for more than a decade.

Signs You Should Check For

Clogged Drains

Clogged drains sometimes appear out of nowhere, but most blockages develop gradually over time, so if you know what to look for, you can detect a clog before it gets too late. Keep a watch on how toilets flush is the water level normal or staying at a height rather than getting low, and listen for any strange sounds coming from the drains or anything else that might indicate a problem.

Leaking Pipes

Pipe leaks aren’t often noticeable until they cause significant harm. Early detection of a water leak can save you money and prevent a plumbing system tragedy. When everyone is living together and there is a lot of water usage, such as during the summer, there is a potential that the pressure in the water pipes would build-up, resulting in leaking. As a result, inspecting the water pipes in the late summers or early winters is always a good idea.

Burbling Noise From Drains

Another sign that can tell you that there is some problem with the plumbing system is the gurgling sound from the pipes or under the sink. If you hear any sound like that, do know that it’s time to call plumbing services for a check.

Weak Water Flow

Low water pressure from the pipes is also a sign of a weak plumbing system. You’re probably dealing with a plumbing issue even if you are only observing low water pressure in one shower pipe or one sink faucet. Low water pressure can be caused by issues with the house’s water supply so make sure you never ignore it and schedule a plumbing check.

Dripping Faucets

It’s tough to believe if someone claims that he’s never had a dripping faucet problem in his life. This is a problem that almost every homeowner has had to deal with at some point in their lives. The drip-drip-drip can be irritating, but it can also be pricey when it leads to a major plumbing disaster. The wasted water from dripping faucets can raise your water bill and cost you money.

A defective internal washer is the most common cause of a leaky faucet. The dripping, leaky faucet could be caused by the washer being stiff, damaged, worn, or displaced. If you believe this is going to cause a significant problem in your home, call a plumber to replace the faucet with the new one to save yourself from emptying your pockets every month to pay those huge water bills.

Bubbling In Walls

It’s usually a symptom of moisture if the paint on a wall or ceiling starts to bubble. A leak in the roof or plumbing system is an indication that you are going to face the problem. It’s most likely a sign of a defect in the plumbing system, and you should contact a plumber right once to begin the examination.
